Review: Madame Web And What I Thought About It
Do I think you should go see it? Well... How much do you like Spider-Man?
Let's start this story at the beginning. I walked into the Alamo Drafthouse and had a brief conversation with Drafthouse employee, James after telling him what I expected to see today. James told me about how many movies I could see with a card, and I bought one. I don't usually do that, but I like movies and they like me. So I did it. After 20 minutes of random conversation, during I signed up, I didn't get access to the actual film. Distraught, I spent 10 dollars on another ticket and hurried inside. I decided I was not going to miss seeing Madame Web today.
Madame Web is a new film made by "Sony in conjunction with Marvel" about a paramedic who discovers she has the special power of future sight. She has to use those abilities to watch out for some random girls she doesn't know before this Ezekial person snuffs them all out with his bitchin speed, wall-crawling, and neurotoxin abilities. He’s particularly scary in this for reasons I’ll go into later. Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson as the Madame, and Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, and Tahar Rahim as Ezekial.
So I don't usually do this, but I'd like to give this movie a grade. I'd say that based on today’s viewing, Madame Web gets a 76% or a 3.5 out of 5. It's a great watch in particular if you dig the Spider-Stuff and an even bigger one if you are into the Andrew Garfield era of Spider-Man movies. I may not have been as into those, but a lot of people were.
That idea sort of brings up the question of:
